Steve is the Founder and Principal search consultant of Steven John & Associates, LLC. After several years with both a leading attorney search consultancy and one of the worlds leading executive search firms, Steve launched Steven John & Associates to serve organizations in need of expert legal talent. He brings a wealth of experience in the recruitment of attorneys from a wide range of disciplines. That experience reflects a broad range of industries and includes both private and public companies as well as academic and not-for-profit institutions.

 

In addition to his General Counsel search practice, Steve has developed particular expertise in the recruitment of attorneys in Real Estate, Intellectual Property, higher education law, social and environmental justice, private philanthropy, and regulatory compliance in a number of highly regulated industries.

 

Steve holds certificates in professional coaching and systemic team coaching from the University of California, Davis and is an ICF certified coach. He is also a certified Hogan Assessment consultant. 

 

Steve is currently pursuing a master's degree in leadership with an emphasis on organizational innovation and change through University of the Pacific.

 

He earned his law degree from UC Law in San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) where he later served as a trustee of the UC Hastings College of the Law Foundation.
